Webull - Best for mobile investments

Webull is a brokerage firm that provides online investing services since 2017. The fintech startup suits well intermediate and young investors’ needs as it has an easy-to-use trading platform and strong community. In addition, Webull does not require a minimum investment or trade portfolio to join the platform, which is a fast and easy process.

The trading platform provides the following assets for a diversified portfolio: stocks, options, ETFs, ADRs, and cryptocurrency. For everyday investors, Webull lacks professional trading tools and a diversity of assets.

Interactive Brokers Pros & Cons

Commissions & Fees

Webull charges no commission on stock, ETFs, and options trades, differentiating itself from other brokers by the zero commission on options per contract. In addition, the company doesn’t charge fees for deposits or withdrawals when using ACH (electronic) transfer. However, wire transfers have a high fee: $8 deposit and $25 withdrawal commissions for U.S. residents. International clients must pay a $14 deposit and $45 withdrawal commissions when using wire transfers.

Educational Content

Compared to other high-end brokers, Webull doesn’t offer relevant educational material, limited to a few articles and news. However, Webull offers a virtual portfolio with fake money so newbies can practice trading before starting investing with real money.

Desktop & Mobile Platforms

Webull offers an easy-to-use web trading platform, a pro desktop version, and a mobile app, suitable most for beginners and intermediate investors. Professional investors have better options in the market, like TD Ameritrade, Interactive Brokers, and Fidelity.

The web trading platform is user-friendly, customizable, and easy to navigate with the tools on the edges of the screen. It offers good search functions, several chart types, 50 technical indicators, drawing tools, and grid layouts to compare charts. It fits perfectly the main needs of casual investors.

The desktop version has similar functions to the web platform. It features a versatile and customizable layout, including watchlists, advanced charts, indicators, and screener functionality. It also features news headlines, analyst ratings, and an overview of markets. It’s suitable for professional traders, however, there are more attractive platforms with more diversification of assets and features.

The mobile app is well-designed, easy to use, and with great functionalities. Investors can see graphics, information, and buy stocks in a few clicks. The app has the same features as the website and desktop platforms, ensuring great usability through the phone.
