Full Review - Special Situation Investments

SSI is an investor community focused on low risk arbitrage opportunities and SPACs with short term catalysts. What we like the most, is that SSI publishes only actionable and well researched investment ideas, so you don't need to waste time sorting through piles of noise.

Cons

Site functionality is somewhat limited, but constantly improving
Covers mostly special situation type investments such as merger arbitrage, SPACs, spin-offs, tender offers, liquidations, etc.
At the moment there are no possibilities to communicate directly with other members except for exchanges in the public comments section below each investment idea
Some of the presented research might appear too complicated for novice investors, however, this gives opportunity to step up one’s game
Any content (new ideas and comments) requires admin approval and while turnaround is usually very fast, would be nice to at least be able to post comments directly

Subscription at a low price

You can have full access to all SSI content with a paid membership of $49/month with the possibilities to participate in discussions but with no contribution requirements. Or, you can try applying for a free subscription. However, the selection criteria are strict and one needs to present a well articulated and actionable investment thesis on a special situation to get accepted. To maintain contributor membership you will need to post two ideas a year, similar to what other investor communities are using.
