MicroCapClub is an exclusive investor forum focusing on microcap companies (sub $300m market cap) trading in United States, Canadian, UK and Australian markets.

The site serves as a platform for experienced microcap investors to share and discuss stock ideas.

MicroCabClub Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Exclusive focus on micro-caps
  • Many smart microcap investors on the forum
  • Contributors do not need to pay for access, however, application is required and acceptance of every new member gets voted by the whole community
  • High contributor engagement requirements make the site relatively active
  • Has an index tracking performance of published investment ideas with relatively good results
  • Price tag of $499/year is acceptable if you are into microcap investing

Cons

  • Paying members are not able to participate in discussions or ask questions
  • Stringent contributor requirements - need to be an active commenter on site to maintain membership - takes too much time.
    Limited number of new ideas posted every month
  • Some of the write-ups are rather descriptive and lack the expected investing insights or clearly laid out investment thesis
  • Outdated forum / message board design offers very limited functionality, but slightly better than CoBF
  • Limited geographical focus

The platform has decent performance and a track record of the investment portfolio.

MicrocapClub members often share low-quality investment research which makes spotting the high quality investment ideas pretty difficult - ones needs to sift through a lot of noise to find the gems. Moreover, the outdated platform design offers very limited functionality, further hindering navigation and search for good content.
