One of the largest online value investing forums, Corner of Berkshire and Fairfax was named after Warren Buffett’s and Prem Watsa’s companies, Berkshire Hathaway and Fairfax Financial, which have created generational wealth for their numerous longtime shareholders and serve as inspiration to investors around the world.

CoBF - which is commonly used acronym for the site - provides a platform to exchange and discuss stock ideas and other investing topics.

Pros

Free Access
Lots of smart value investors on the message board
Discussions are sorted by ticker making the research on a particular company easier
Very frequent updates on covered stocks from all the forum participants
No approval of new posts and comments.

Cons

Focus on U.S. and Canada markets mostly
The original investment thesis may get lost/changed in sometimes very long message threads often running through tens of pages
Hard to spot new investment opportunities as continuous tracking of the whole forum is required for that
Limited functionality of a simple message board that has not changed in 20 years leaves a lot to be desired

The platform can be summarized as a message board with topics and company tickers to be discussed. Aside from individual company discussion one can find topics on overall economy, investing strategy, personal finance, books, politics and more.

Anyone can have a 'read' access to the discussions on the board, but to be able to participate it is necessary to become a member and pay a one time registration fee of $29,99.

Limited investment coverage

CoBF has a lot of smart investors sharing many stock ideas focused on U.S and Canada markets only.

Non-curated content

Although the content on the platform is frequently updated by members, the forum is full of non-interesting ideas. The lack of curation makes it difficult to discover intelligent discussions and useful material. Moreover, due limited site functionality members will have to track the whole message board to find something valuable.
